Thanks Scarlet Very Happy

I think (touching wood here) that things have calmed down at bit, we had the farrier today and they where all good, Moss had a few attemptes to chew the rope ect but on the whole was great,
The farrier said that all the boys had great hooves and he only had to trim the fronts on Brett and Moss Very Happy not bad when you think I only have him every 12 weeks.
I deffantly think Moss has sweet-itch Evil or Very Mad he was realy itchy on his tummy this evening and was laying down scracthing his tummy with his back hoof, when he got up I rubbed some more de-itch stuff on him, which he really enjoyed and I didn't have to bend at all Shocked not too sure what anybody watching would have thought Laughing Laughing

Great fun yesterday [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
It started well, I went to the field and found three sleeping horses, Mossy totally flat out [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I called them and Brett started to come over a he gave Moss a good nudge as he went past [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
they came up and Mossy came into the holding area and I started to
groom him, suddnly Brett & Teep went on full alert and started to
walk off then there where whinnys and Brett was off, Moss got edgy so I
just let him back in the field, all hell let loose, horses every where, I
put the power on full and carefully looked to what the problem was, it
was another horse in the next field!!!!!!! Brett was in a right stew [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
so I abonned the walk idea, after a bit Moss got fed up with the new
horse and really started to get nasty with Teepy, after a bit Moss went
back to Brett so I took a chance and turned the power off and got
Teepy's part of the field taped off then the power back on [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I left them for an hour but Brett was still wired and he kept setting Moss off [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] So I will try again tomorrow

Woopie we got out today [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
We
had a nice walk out past the concil estate, then round the back lane to
the lake at one part we found a big roller parked in a gate way, Moss
did look at that but soon got the courage up to go and try chewing it
ect [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] we got down to the lake and then we went across the causeway [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
very pleased with him as it is a very narrow path that drops off both
sides to water, plus you have to push through the willow trees too, we
turned around in the woods as most of the paths there are blocked by
fallen trees and back over the causeway, then we followed the side of
the lake, past one camping fisherman and then on to the salle du lac, we
had a couple of spooks there, why can you past 11 birds flapping around
in the undergrowth no problem than spook at the 12th????? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] we went on to beach, sniffed and tried chewing [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] a couple of boats and had a long look at the boats tied up to on the lake then back round the back road to home [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I stopped at home as I wanted Cliff to come down with me so we could
move the boys to a new field, it took awhile to get Cliff to the door as
he was busy with guests but Mossy just stood there, then a lorry that
had been park up started up, so I just moved Moss so he was facing down
the road away from the main road just in case and I'm glad I did, I'm
not sure if the driver drove badly on perpurse or was trying to be quite
and got it wrong, but it was one of those turkey lorries and all the
metal cages rattled and made a dreadful deafing noise, too much for
Mossy but he didn't run just trotted on the spot, we just stood for a
few mins to regroup but he was a bit wired still and he wouldn't cross
the road so I got Cliff to just stand at his head and then said to just
to walk across the road and at this point the church bells went off to
their evening revallie and about ten cars in a line went through the
village!! anyway Mossy again just stood there then Cliff walked across
and Mossy did follow then as we got to the other side and was about to
turn down the next road another turkey lorry went by rattleing away but a
couple of quick steps was all he did, then back to the field, all in
all I'm very pleased with him and if it had been Brett I would have been
back down to lake before I could blink with the lorry [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Cliff came down a few mins after we got back and we moved the boys ok and they are happy up to their ankles in grass again [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Mossy is still enjoying his bridge
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Eric has been and Moss was a star Very Happy

He has been rasped and the last two caps have come off, I now have Mossy teeth to keep Cool, apperantly the squeak was the lose caps rubbing on the gums. Eric went to "ping" the fronts that haven't come out but they are too well embeded as the adult teeth have totaly missed the baby teeth and not loosen them all at. So he will have to sedate him which is a a bit of a problem at the mo as I have no acess to a stable till Oct and Mossy is doing this demo at the weekend, so after lots of talking etc we are leaving the fronts till Oct they are not causeing him any pain or discomfort, then we can be organised and Moss can then have the week off that he will need after they come out.

I had hoped to put on training progress after our do last weekend but
the weather bless it has buggered that, twice this week it has become
less and windy and cleared up but that is usually about 8.30pm and I
have lost intrest by then and the weather for the next four days is
terrible especally Monday and Wednesday. I had also ment to put the boys
into a small field behind the church but I changed my mind after seeing
the forcast and have put then in other big field where my school is as
it has a lot more hedges for shelter, it did get a bit exciting this
evening, as when I turned up both Brett & Moss came cantering up,
then as I doing stuff in the other field Moss wondered off so by the
time I was ready just Brett was still at the gate, so not thinking I
caught him and put him the new field and went back for Moss, simples? no
Moss kicked off big time was either chargeing around the field being
nasty to Teepy or being very naughty with me trying to get his halter
on, I got a lovely Moss kiss and so went to plan B before he took the
fence out. Plan B was bring Brett back, things calmed down straight away
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
got Moss's head collar took him to his place and tied him up and gave
them their tea, then when Moss had finished I took him across then
Bretty then a very bouncy Teepy and then all breath and calm [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I had also hoped to put some pics and maybe a vid or two up of last weekend but I haven't had any pic or vids sent back yet hopefully next week

Another week of sweet nothing, and most of it due to the weather although the last two days have been fab, we did get the donkeys out for a walk on Wednesday for a hour or so.
It is soooo nice to be warm and dry again. We had a total of 201mm of rain for April and 180 of that was from the 17th!!!

Both Brett & Moss got really cheesed off with the wet and wind, poor Moss was praticly begging for a stable and hay on a couple of days, he is really not keeping up with the hardy Normand image Laughing, I hadn't realsied how little they had been eating till the sun came out and they just hoovered the grass, they have been in a small field that normaly lasts them five days this time it has done seven all bar a few hours Shocked
I went to the field this morning to see that they had taken out the dividing fence between the boys and Teepy Rolling Eyes so I removed it and let them be together for the day, of course I had my lttle helper Laughing , so I got him to do some at liberty stuff stop when I did etc and he was very good, no nips and just one go with trying to take the tape. We moved them back to one of the big fields tonight so they are all happy munching again
We have a busy weekend as it's our 25th wedding so we are haveing a do hopefully it won't pee down as it's a BBQ but after Monday back to doing stuff, normalment Maycloud's blog - Page 2 120413

It has finally stopped raining [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
So I took Moss out for a walk last night, just round the block as the
path I was going to take was taped off for the cows to go to and from
milking and it's a right faff taking it down and putting up again. he
was great a small stop at poo corner but that was all and a good forward
walk the rest of the time, the only bouncy bit was when we had a couple
of cows come bounding over, he squealed and wanted to trott and play
but he soon calmed again and was great when we got back to the field and
Brett came galloping over to us, we then went into the school and I got
the camara going, I have had to take two mins off as Master Mossy
breathed all over it and fogged it up [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
we then went and did the May challange, anoth forumn that I go has
monthly challanges, this months is doing the Trec S, not too bad I
think, we where not fluid and we did step out of the poles a couple of
times but I'm pleased with him it's only the second time either of us
have done it.
We also did some leading work and of course most is off camara [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
the one on film is the worst but a small ah ah and he stoped, the other
two stops where great and we just stood at the end too and no nipping [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] hopefully I can start to work on getting out of my space a bit now too.

I'm chuffed to whatisit [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And finally we got out with Brett and Teepy tonight [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
, a fab evening warm no wind and the boys where great, Teepy was a bit
footy on the gravel but then he hasn't been out for about five weeks [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
but he strode out nicley in the woods when not trying to stop for a
good scratch, Brett was in great form and only one little spook which
was at a snake so he's let off for that [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

We also did his May challange

Tonight we had musical accompaniment in the field [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] well thats one way of calling it [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
there was a road race throught the village and as usal here you have
to have Breton music and lots of shouting, Brett almost started to do
the Breton dance, Moss was "what, where" but both in happy relaxed
state but Teepy! stressed or what [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Moss was so chilled I even manged to rasp his hooves while the noise was going on and he wasn't even tied up [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Whats going on?

A small vid, sound up

Will somebody please tell where the time goes, it's the end of May already and I have done very little Mossy [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
for the last three evening we have been trying to vid our May ID test,
Sunday are guests arrived so late it was to late to go out and do it,
and has they said that they would arrive at 4.30pm so we where stuck in
from then, last night we had guests book an evening meal [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] and tonight was almost called off as guests in one the gites we look after where in panic because the wifi wasn't working [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Any just before nine we did got working [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] except master Mossy was in a right royal strop and lets play and be a git mood [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
he so bad that I just didn't have the balls to try leading, I think if
we had just walked out we would have been fine but work when it's
already gone past tea time!

A couple of vids to give you a giggle
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The
bit Cliff missed was that I made him halt then back up then stand
before going out, so hopefully it was more ME saying we can now go.

Going back to the field [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

A
couple of very small positives though, when we got back to the field I
can't turn the power off straight away as the box is a fair way in the
field, so I take the tape down and throw it back, this time I didn't
throw far enough and either Moss brushed it or the reins brushed it as
he got a small shock but he didn't barge me, he stepped to one side [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Then
I tried something new on Moss, a couple of people had said to try
shaking a tin with stones in it instead of flapping the reins in his
face, as I'm not very good on aim [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I talked it over with Susan and we decided to try it. Moss of course
being Moss went "ohhh new toy, can I play too" when I just shook it the
once but when I kept shaking and doing the ah ah and moveing towards him
it did the trick, so we just did standing quietly he could rest his
nose on me or the tin but any attempt at nipping or playing I gave a
vigours shake and stepping into his space [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I did have a small panic as I found myself a fair way in the field at
one point and thought "hell how do I get out with out backing or turning
my back" [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Have to say the tin worked a treat on Brett and Teepy they kept well out of my space [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
