| Hello, It was good to meet you too, as I said, I'd been admiring your horse all afternoon. TREC does look very good fun,and what a nice atmosphere. Encouraged by your example (and the sunshine) I've been riding this afternoon, and it was lovely. Best wishes | |

| Hello. I've done loads of Le Trec in the UK and enjoyed it hugely on my arab x. He was very good at it because nothing was too great a challenge. He could canter at walk pace and always got full marks for that and then spoilt it by jogging in the walk! We did the English Championships but we didn't do so well individually as the obstacles were so scary that he spent most of the time going backwards and infuriating the judges by knocking over their chairs or backing their their cars - naughty boy! Got third in the Team event (Team TRRC) mostly because of the other competitors. Absolutely loved it. But a question - do they have orienteering only in France? My mare isn't anything like ready for obstacles and thinks jumps are there to be destroyed. The arab x is too old now. | |

| Yes that's right and talking of off days, I've got both horses out of action at the mo - one shoulder problem and of course silly old Herbert falling over - that's why you are hearing so much from me - too much time off! What do they say about raining and pouring? That reminds me - isn't it time we had some rain? Our hay is currently about 2 inches high! | |

| Well actually what with the mare in and Herbert on a self-imposed perpetual diet (a bad doer - easier than a good!) I have far too much grass even with the 4 acre field down to hay and we have to keep cutting it. As my husband won't get a tractor I cut the paddocks on a garden tractor - I'm sure our french neighbours think I'm nuts! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| you might be surprised just how reasonable it is to get the farmers in with their equipment as they do it in a jiffy , for years we've struggled around the hedges and finally asked a hedgecutter in for a couple of hours and he did everything that was within reach for 50 euros would have took me weeks to get done | |

| Yes our "tame" farmer does the big stuff and we do get someone in for the hedges but hate to admit it - I really enjoy poddling round the paddocks on the garden tractor trying to avoid the wild orchids and crickets! | |

| Golly you must live somewhere exotic! I don't think we have them unless I have eliminated them by garden tractor of course. We do have an enormous number of little green frogs living in the hay field and the babies are really sweet. I cringe each year when the farmer gets his cutter out. | |
