Just tried looking on bing map's to find out where they are it said Finland ? Are they to go together look's like they are friend's. Do you know if they can both do light work? Sorry for all the questions but I do know of a lady looking for a couple of heavies for occationall light work.

These two could be ideal for the lady you know. There's no reason they couldn't be worked, assuming they are in full health. By the sound of things they have been broodmares in the past, though one is advertised as ridden. Maybe they are broken to harness but the ad doesn't say, so my guess is they are not. Let's face it, that would be an extra selling point. If that's the case they won't be clapped out from hard work and should have a few working years ahead of them.

I've tried ringing my friend but no reply, she could be out seeing to here 4. She is a very experienced heavie owner, she does drive and that is what she is looking for. But because of her ( shall we say ) being over the pension age she is looking for two of older year's. Sadley she lost her two drivers in the bad storm we had in Feb. this year and has been looking for two replacement's. I will keep trying to contact her and give her the details. Any more info would be most apprieciated. P.S Where is the spell check

I obviously completely understand concerns about feeding these giants and there may be no option to take them , I will talk to them about further lowering price if I have someone who wants them or one

the owner is at least selling below meat cost, i wonder if thats the reason for the dealers interest? could someone warn them?

if they have not been trained then at least they have avoided training which could be the often bad job and a new owner would be starting with a clean sheet so to say?

they are a breed know as easy to train and handle so don't be put off by size, at 15-16y they are not old, & as cally said hardly likely to have many miles on the clock so less chance of leg problems etc.

if those darn little numbered ping pong balls would only choose my numbers!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the thoughts so far , I will phone them up in the morning but I think they feel they have no alternative as they are desperately short of grass ( already they own 165 horses ! ) and dealers won't have many options for percherons that can't breed

Oh how I wish I had the funds and the facilities to take these two lovely mares on It's tragic to think that they are going for meat, just because their days as foal-making machines are over, when they have years of life left in them and could bring so much happiness to someone.

A bit more info , she is at a farm that produces milk from the mares , I have spoken to the owner this am and she gives us a few more days ( a week she says ), she is keeping one of them now as it sounds as if they have lost a mare and are now using one of these to look after the foal as she is very maternal , its still the ridden mare to find a home for , she insists she's a very kind mare

I've not been able to contact the lady as yet, she is on holiday. I have left a message with her house/horse sitter to pass the information on about this big girlie. Finger's crossed she get's it in time.

Isn't there a possibility of some one fostering her until a permanent home could be found for her? Although I'm sure you have looked into this and I suppose the breeder wouldn't want to consider this as they just want the funds.

Thankyou Zait-bet You hit the nail on the head , I think we would have a reasonable chance to find a foster carer but to find the 500 euros until she was rehomed for 500 euros is the hard bit , I have two horses I've bought this way recently to rehome so can't do it again right now . If I could raise a pool of funds then of course things would be different and with the site I'm hoping professionals that advertise even private advertisers maybe ?? will add to this pool which stands currently at zero

What a shame i cant sell /loan my 3 Welsh i would of bought her as i have a Clydesdale and a Breton ,so she would of had friends .I also have tha space.
