hi, me again,
can anyone finish the breaking in/carry on with the training of my 2 bretons?
I need to re home them (& saltie too) but they are not trained enough yet, i have done the early work,
chance is at the backed and ridden away stage up to trot, he has had harness on and done long reining, been led on the road, been in a trailer.
gerry is at the lean over him stage, he is much more wary, far more a box of fireworks, consider him a 'challenge'? so who fancies a challenge then????
please note :- persons with EXPERIENCE are needed, age does not matter, a kid with suitable experience is better than an adult with none, an untrained horse with a too inexperienced person is not a good mix
i offered them out on loan but when a nice guy came to try Chance, he was bucked off (sorry
i hope the bruises are not too bad
) since chance has had no training done for a while and the guy was less experienced than i expected with hindsight it should not have been a surprise.
I just can not do anymore, my doctors have said i must not risk any injury as my spine especially my neck is very unstable & the smallest whoops could be very very serious, i am told i must not do anything physically more demanding than lift a tea cup (this is already driving me crackers
) for me to get the sort of normal horsey bump/ bang/ tug we all do on a daily basis is now a no-no, no bucket carrying, no wheelbarrow pushing (
that bit I don't mind losing! ) no bale chucking, after 40y of it it is SO wierd
but then when i realise the risk i was unknowingly taking when i ignored the pain, swore silently and took the tablets..... it makes me cold all over
.
so is there a potential test pilot out there? pretty please
they are all still available for loan even old Saltie, but because she is a vets bill on legs if anyone took her on i would carry on paying the vet, if she can't be homed she faces being put down, not because she is too un-healthy but because i can't do the care.
we are in south vendee, near ste hermine, 0251 292055 bye
