Is the ride still going ahead? I believe a suspected case of strangles has been on yard in the past week therefore would make your horses in the incubation period? Would it not be best to be safe rather than sorry and postpone for a week or so? I'm afraid we won't be taking the risk

Hi, actually there has been NO strangles outbreak on the yard ever, and
our horses have Not been in contact with any horses who have strangles either.

There is however someone who would like people to believe otherwise.
We are aware of who it is and why they should want to spread this rumour, anyone who wants more info then pm me.

Because of our competition obligations we have the vets here almost weekly so we could'nt hide it.

Well I got deleted when I said what I thought but I can't understand why they let the thread exist at all as its clearly scaremongering

Oh heavens above what next! Where has this strangles scare come from? We live in the same area as Bob and have heard nothing about it. We live next to a yard with 30 horses and they all look pretty fit. Our farrier Richard Mott was here on Wednesday and if he and Ange don't know what's going on in the area I don't know who does! Not a mention of strangles or any other dire disease.

Anyway I'm looking forward to tomorrow Bob. Weather looks good! Just sorry un-horsed but coming to help instead. x

Sorry for any scare mongering Cally.....the MIS-DIAGNOSIS of Strangles came from Bob actually.....lesson learned? Call the vet before making inacurate prognosis!! On a lighter note the weather is beautiful today and I genuinely hope everyone has a fantastic time on the fun ride
