PostSubject: We've lost dear little Enzo :-(   Thu Mar 10, 2011 9:13 pm

Found Enzo convulsing / fitting on the garden where just before he had been sniffing around our feet pinching foot trimmings while the farrier was here . Rushed him down to the vets who kept him in overnight
I phoned a couple of times the next morning and asked could I sit with him as he is nervous of strange surroundings and was told I could come and get him , I was rather shocked to be given Enzo in unconscious state but had instructions how to keep him under valium
poor little Enzo's heart gave up as I lay next to him that late evening, I couldn't bring him back
we're so shocked , he was only 4 yrs
miss you so much little Enzo xxx

hello cally, so sorry to hear about enzo, truly understand how you feel after i lost little puzzle to a bad heart, she had quite a few episodes but came back time after time, so each day was special with her, i know the panic of rushing off to the vet thinking this time its it, at least i had time to say goodbye, try to take it easy today. x

so sorry, it is always hard to lose a friend no matter what their species is.

i had a terrier in Uk who was about 17 y old she started with fits late in life but they were slight and few, she was almost blind and walked very slowly, so slow i used to pick her up if i saw she was on her way outside and carry her, but let her make her own way back inside, she hardly left the house except to toddle out for toilet, because she couldn't be expected to hold on we left the back door open all day so she could get into the garden.
we knew she was close to her time & we were preparing for her to be PTS if her condition worsened, 1 day however she just disapeared, we had a field behind the house which led to a wildlife area, somehow she must have got through a gap in the fence, across the field and away into the wild, despite all the neighbours kids helping we never found her.

i don't know whats worse, being there to watch a little friend die, or wondering if she wanted to be found and we couldn't find her.

bye

What a little sweetheart and what a shock for you No . At least you got him home and he didn't die on his own in a strange place. So sorry
