| hi, me, him & them(kids) have decided once we sell this house in vendee, to shift the ark more 'up north', where the weather is cooler [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] , where places to ride have less cars and grass is cheaper to buy in field sizes, & where him & them can get to UK to get a fix of what can't be found in France (branston pickle, galaxy choc, steak n kidney pies)...... sad! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] so forum mates can you send me (on a PM please) your views on good agents or bad agents to search with? links to websites is most welcome too. or does anyone want to swap? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] bye [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Is there such a thing as a "good" estate agent [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I have a feeling there is a web site for people who want to swap??? perhaps someone else will know more [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Have you put an ad. for a swap on Anglo info.on Brittany and Normandy, I would think listening to the moans about the weather from people who live up here you may get a nibble. Finger's crossed salee, I know how unsettling it can be when you want to move [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Pen | |

| Just had another thought [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the vendor places the ad themselves for a "flat fee" of about 100 euro. until the house is sold. It's how we sold our first house here. Pen [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

No there isn't, but there are varying degrees of no-goodness [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Good estate agents - that's what my english teacher would call an 'oxymoron' which is not a posh word for stupid cow! Our French friend France (so named 'cos she was conceived aboard the liner of that name during her parents' silver wedding anniversary cruise, but I digress....) says that all estate agnts are mafia, and that was among the nicer things she said about them. What she advocated, and it worked for us, is to go directly to a notaire and sut out the commission-oriented parasite in the middle. There is a notaires de france of some such website which lists 'em by departement and most seem to have their own websites with lists of properties. Am I opinionated, certainly; have I been helpful, hopefully. | |

| with money and emotions involved in property, steel yourself and get your mind in real mode, which involves people who stick up the price, withdraw from contract signings and all manner of dirty tricks including notaires, accept this and sometimes you canbe pleasantly surprised, just put your feelings on one side be disspassionate and ruthless, its the right property you are after not the estate agent. | |

| Try Pat Laws. 0233465911 Very nice lady who finds people houses in this area. I got mine through her and she just sold a house round the corner for someone who had been trying to sell for ages. Not an agency as such. | |

| We bought ours through [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]English couple and we found them very easy to deal with, they sorted lots of little problems out for us. Very horsey as well so genuinely understand all the little foibles and requirements that we horsey people have. They cover all of France. Come to western Brittany, it does rain a bit more here but we have LOTS of grass!!! Good luck with it all, fingers are crossed for you. | |

| HI Salee Try [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]no estate agents, just people selling privately, in France and other European countries. Britttany is also worth considering, plenty of properties available cheap. | |

You are better off looking around other agents as you might just pick up a bargin as people are taking offers on houses well under the asking price . We put our house with france equestre ages ago and have never had any feed back from her at all and it has never (apart from on her site which she has now taken off) been advertised on the internet but it has with other agents.

| That's a shame Saz as they were very good with us but it was nearly 3 years ago now that we were buying ours, we did manage to get ours at alot less (25%) than asking price too . We bought ours through the SAFER and it was an absolute nightmare and took an awful lot of extra work. Wouldn't recommend that to anyone if you can avoid it. | |

| hi all, we went we looked &........... we THINK we found!! IT, the PLACE so before i sign up and commit, does anyone know the area around Sourdeval (near mortain) well? the bit i saw my 'possible' is called Chaulieu, where they do the moto X which is just a bit to the east of sourdeval, whats the riding like? is it really brass monkey needs welder weather in winter? is hay expensive? does anyone have/know where i can put the horses for winter livery till we get stables up or till we all finish the move up en-block in spring (or when the main house sells whichever is 1st)????? & as for agents well......... "sorry no time to show you around, here is a map - go look yourself, just push open the door & if anyone challenges you show them this letter"100% TRUE!! the owner who came out to see who was poking around was NOT happy with the agent i can say! same darn agent who did not pass on messages to the owner of my offer etc, just as well i met & talked with the owner & we negotiated between us a deal. so beware...... Salee's ark & all who S S Sail in it are a comin' up, the invasion may be soon, bye [u][i] | |
