If anyone is going on one and needs a companion.........I'm Freee! and always keen too! I have a trailer so could always meet at the place.
I met up with Basilbrush at Cabourg Hippodrome on Saturday and we had a great day out . Think we were the only English there. Really good fun parading through the town and then on the beach. Robbias first outing and I was very pleased with her. Just walked and trotted. Can't wait to do it again now!

It was a proper organised event but more of a 'fun day' than the usual point scoring. Randonnee in the morning followed by parade through town, lunch then PTV on the beach in the afternoon. Here we are on return from our randonnee bit.

Pity you're so far away Camyds, I think you'd make a great riding companion, and we could talk trotters! Unfortunately Denise and I live so far apart from each other that we need rides that are equidistant to both of us. Hey, dont critisie your riding, if the hoss and rider "fit" thats all that matters, I call myself the donkey rider, never had a lesson, and now too long in the tooth methinks, but, Jeanie and M G must enjoy being ridden by a sack o spuds, cos we seem to fit [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

'Age is but a number'( well that's what people seem to say when they get past a 'certain' age)
When I was in my teens I went hunting with the North Norfolk once and saw a little old lady riding a palomino pony. She rode side saddle and the pony was going off like a bottle of fizzy pop! I couldn't take my eyes off this little lady and enquired about her age ..........She was 94!!!!!!!! She has been my role model for my old age, that's if I'm lucky enough to be fit enough and even reach that age [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .

That old lady is such an inspiration, i do hope I am still about at that age and certainly hope I am still riding.

With me, I was flung on the back of a saddleless shettie when I was three and that was it. I got my pony when I was 12 and he owned me for about 28yrs, most of our riding was bareback. I then was out of the saddle for about 10 + years and bought M G in 2005, (first introduction to horses) and my, what a horse!!! playboy on wheels when fit........confidence took a bit of a knock with him so now decided riding on busy roads is a no go area for him [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Jeanie, well, she is all out there and forward going, loves being in front and gettin fitter every day, such a confidence giver. And no, I will not get lessons, dont have the urge, besides, my phlosopy is why try and change summit that works, also, dont need someone to tell me how bad I really am, and, with my hearing I probably wouldnt hear half of what was being said [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Hi, I have just come back from a quick trip to the uk and read Georgies post saying I'm a good rider I couldn't believe it!! I am very very average if not below average I have had my boy for 8 years and we know eachother well so when I see something that I know he doesn't like I will hold on tight!! thats not good riding and I won't jump I use to about 40 years ago but not now I don't evan like cantering if any other horses are about as he thinks we are racing so very kind of you Georgie but I'm pretty useless realy but I will try almost anything.

Did you or did you not jump the log? and did you or did you not canter the 100 metres? in fact you did ALL the obstacles there.The very fact that you do these things and on your own mostly just amazed us!
