| Ok guys, this could be a long story with many pics, so i wont bore you with it all at the one time. but please read the story as it is ALL TRUE.... I will start out with asking a question or two, hope you dont mind. Here we go. If you were the proud owner of a French Trotter that you had bred, raised, qualified and won a quarter of a million Francs racing in her career, then, when she was retired got 9 quality foals from and made loads of money from selling them on because of her credentials, what would you do when you decided she was due to retire? Well, I do hope you would all agree and say, give her a good life, albeit an active one, but most of all, let her be a horse in a herd again, not a machine....? Here is the reality, but before i continue this story, i must stress that her breeder did not send her to her down this route, he sold her for a measly 1000 euros at a horse sale, (after all she gave him money wise) anyway, thats hoss business for ya eh? She ended up bound for the lorry to Italy, the person that bought her at the market got one foal from her, then another, but it died, 2 wks after that, she was with the meat man..... I saw her on a site that Cally was connected with, she was listed along with some young ones and they got snapped up quite quickly. I didnt know of her history, but there was just something about her, so, I bought her and she went to Callys for some TLC before she endured the long journey to me in Scotland. Cally looked after her well and got her weight up and she put up with all my telephone calls of woe and worry, but, if Carolyn hadnt been there to help me through my doubts, I may have not gone through with this. She sent me pics and vids of her progrss and that confirmed that I had done the rite thing. So, the lovely Jeanie will have been with me one whole year on the 28th of this month. When she got here, the long journey had taken its toll and she had dropped loads of weight and had no muscle at all. she had what looked like jumpers bump. Anyway, here are some pics. also, back to my first question, would you send this lovely gal off to the meatman after she had given you all that i have listed above. Thanks for reading, and if you want, i can update you some more. Linda xxxxxxx Now bitless....much more relaxed... And with my boy, well, he is her boy now!!!! Thanks for reading, and just to let you know, she isent that old, she is 17 on March 12th.... | |

| Thats right Jan, the lovely Jeanie has been here one year today, and boy, what a year! gone is the skinny minnie scardie cat that came off the lorry to a really sweet girl. Still a bit shy, but she's here. enjoying life, (I hope) and has that wee spark in her eye. Quick year eh Jan? but i know you will agree with me, the anxious weeks of waiting were well worth it, but, we both knew that she was being well looked after along with Minstrel from the lovely auntie Cally.... | |

Just back from a hack, wasent too warm that day, a bit wet too, but I am riding a hairy mamouth, ha ha This one taken Sunday, pre hack.....where's the mamouth gone ha ha, thanks for looking. | How did you get her cantering Camyds? I still haven't managed to have enough space to get Robbia cantering. With me on her back it looks like we are going to have to try on the beach and yet she will canter round in a small pen that I taped off for her no problem. Of course she doesn't know the aids for canter either so just thinks she's supposed to go faster. | |

| Well, if your Robbia trots like Jeanie, ie, full bionic, you will not get her to canter in a straight line at all, no matter how much space you have. I have always tried it in a straight line and up hills, but once they are in their trotting gait, they cannot transfer this to canter. So, believe it or not, you have answered your own question. Your circle.......I let a friends friend have a shot on J as he wanted to try the bionic, so he got it, but at one point as they were on the bend he asked her for canter and there she was, cantering up the field......so, try that with Robbia, i bet it will work. I now have something to work with i will eventually be able to canter her in a straight line because she will soon know it is alright to do so Good luk and let us know how it goes... Oh, M G flossess every nite thats why his teeth are so white | |

| thanks for the reply and yes that makes sense actually.............of course it does . What's that saying about you can't see the woods for the trees or something like that . I will certainly let you know how I get on with that. p.s. you'll definately have to let me know his brand of toothpaste | |

| It does make perfect sense, I just went DOH!!! when it happened Re the toothpaste, It is actually the metal drainpipe outside his stable that he likes to rasp them up and down on....I know, DISGUSTING! he only does it sometimes, I think to annoy me with the grateing noise. Har har | |

| Ahh I recognise this beauty I read your story on ERR This mare is magnificent, twice the size she was when she arrived . I think and correct me if I am wrong but she was with Cally when my Lennie was there. You are absolutely right you have to teach trotters to canter on the circle, lunging over poles helps, in fact incorporating small jumps helps the canter to become established. All our trotters canter even Rue who is a fruit bat in disguise | |

| Hi Teza, I remember you too, and yes, I am sure that Lennie was at Auntie Callys at the same time Thanks for your tips re streghthing Jeanies canter. She is so full of it once she has cantered, or indeed, one of her bionic trots, such an adrenaline buzz, but the good thing is, she now knows to come back and ride calm at the buckle, all be it, quick walk, but long and low. I really will need to put some more pics on of the old gal | |

Cally, I promise I will add to her story board soon, been off for two weeks, so when i get ma ass in gear, you are all going to have one long picture story to read through..... ha ha!!!!!!
