| It looks as if it will be bit warm over the next few days. Are any special precautions necessary for horses/ponies? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| It was definately starting to get noticeably warmer when we rode out this evening. I don't know about precautions ripple's slave, but just the usual advise, providing shade, and water, putting sunblock on vunerable places noses, ears etc, and perhaps not riding out at the hottest part of the day same as for us I guess pen | |

| SO lucky living here in Normandy. We have two large outbuildings that double as field shelters with great big thick stone walls - really dark and cool inside. I wonder if the horses realise how lucky they are? They had to manage with a tree in the UK (actually we used to bring them in for the day and out at night, but it's not as good as out all the time when you have a 28 year old). I always think summer can be more difficult to manage than winter - except when it blizzards of course! Keep cool y'all. | |

| I'm just off to slap some factor 50 suncream on Bluey's pink nose. I might give her and Roo a sponge-down later, if it gets really hot. Unfortunately I can't get them in under the trees at the moment because that part of the field is waiting for the hay to be cut (hoping for cutting next Wednesday ). Bill. | |

| Yes it's SO hot , I had to sponge my mare down this evening she was so sticky with sweat! As I went past our chicken shed I noticed the girls standing on their perch with their beaks open and their wings held out and they were standing rather than sitting! | |
